Tesla Plans To Build Most Advanced Factory In Shanghai

Tesla and SpaceX founder and all-round "big ideas" man Elon Musk has just wrapped up a three-day visit to China where he met with officials in Beijing and confirmed a deal for Tesla's first foreign factory in Shanghai (albeit without saying how much it'll all cost). The production milestone was finally attained by the company during the final week of June, but it did not escape criticism from the company's doubters, some of whom predicted that the Model 3's 5,000/week "burst" production would be unsustainable.

The Tesla Model Y will be a more low-cost version of its Model X, similar to how the Model 3 is a less expensive version of the Model S. "We hope it will be completed very soon". But as Musk neared a deal with Google CEO Larry Page, Tesla started selling enough vehicles to become financially stable, and Musk made a decision to keep Tesla independent. Tesla has been burning through billions of dollars as it's struggled to ramp up manufacturing of the Model 3 sedan.

Workers at the California Tesla factory claim they were forced to walk through sewage and were offered Red Bulls to fight exhaustion while producing Model 3s. Reports said Tesla's plan will bring China's "ambition to grow from the world's largest auto market into a true automotive heavyweight, bringing key technologies and opportunities for local parts makers". The possible answer was provided by the Shanghai government.

Tesla boss Elon Musk has revealed more specifications for a 155mph all-wheel-drive Performance version of the Model 3 created to rival the BMW M3. In its lawsuit, the electric auto giant has also claimed that Tripp leaked false and misleading info in the media. "I think it's really coincidental". It is expected to serve as a research, manufacturing and sales center.

Additionally, Tesla is gaining popularity in China. China accounted for 17 per cent of Tesla's 2017 revenue, according to a filing with U.S. regulators.

"Tesla is deeply committed to the Chinese market, and we look forward to building even more cars for our customers here", the spokesperson said. Musk did say that despite a potential release in March of 2019, it is certainly conceivable that the Model Y could also be unveiled in the later half of 2018, edging into early 2019. The CEO has said that the company won't need to raise more money this year.
