With Google's Phone app now users will be able to avoid pesky calls by tweaking a few settings. You can find the filtered calls in the call history. However, everyone's results may vary. The name of the feature is relevant with the work it does ie "caller ID and spam protection".
Despite being on the Do Not Call list, I've somehow managed to make it onto some sort of robocall list where a woman named "Ann" is trying to sell me insurance. The new feature routes the pesky or spam calls to your voicemail so that you do not have to face unwanted encounters.
Turn Caller ID & spam on or off. Turn on both "Caller ID & Spam" (which warns you of incoming spam calls with a bright red screen) and "Filter suspected spam calls". But users receiving a spam call can select "block/report spam" in the same way that Gmail users can to prevent future calls from that number and to help Google identify calls from that number as spam for other Android users. That also means you'll get warnings if the caller is listed as a potential spam caller as per their database and information. But come to think again, operating the app in Incognito can do wonders as it will stop YouTube from promoting certain videos based on the clips which you've watched in the past. If the option is showing up, tap Report call as spam, and then tap Block. Users will then be asked if they want to block the number. Go to your recent calls and the number that you want to report as spam.
