Waitress and college student Emelia Holden was simply doing her job when a male customer groped her. Emilia Holden, 21, who works at Vinnie Van Go-Go's pizzeria (where scantily clad servers dress like go-go dancers) in Savannah, Georgia, was minding her own business when a man named Ryan Cherwinski groped her.
He is from Palm Bay, Florida, the father of infant twin girls, and in a long-term relationship with their mother. The video, originally posted to Reddit, showed Holden grabbing the man from behind before wrapping her arms around his neck and taking him to the ground. "I took the guy down and had my co-workers call the police", Holden recalled to LADbible.
After reviewing the surveillance footage taken inside the restaurant, police arrested Cherwinski and handed him over to the Chatham County Sheriff's Office on June 30. The suspect, Ryan Cherwinski, 31, spent two nights in jail before being released.
Cherwinski has been charged with sexual battery. She grabbed him by the collar and tossed him like a rag doll up against a wall.
While Cassetta stresses that she would never judge a person on their reaction to being targeted, she says she teaches something different in her classes. "You have no right to disrespect me".
The manager of the restaurant told police he witnessed the event and provided them with the surveillance footage.
And the waitress has now made a decision to use her new-found fame to raise money for cat shelters.
On Facebook Thursday, Holden said she appreciated the kind words from people responding to the video, but appeared to have had enough of the media attention.
She has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for cat charities.
It didn't take long to go viral.
Holden said she's been overwhelmed by support from people. "I'm not glad that it happened, but I'm glad that it's had such a positive outcome", she said.
"I'm 115 pounds. I didn't know I could do that", she said. "His hand went further than it should have so I was thinking, 'There's no way a stranger just did that'".
