Tottenham want to delay Man City game, host at Wembley - Mauricio Pochettino

His team is the first since 2003 to not bring in a single player during the summer transfer window.

The Premier League have already given Tottenham special treatment by allowing them to play their home fixtures at two different grounds in one season, so it is unlikely they will be allowed to move the match to a third venue.

However Alderweireld, who was hotly linked with Man Utd, appears to have expressed his desire to stay via good old Instagram, with the Belgian defender posting a picture of himself at training with the message: "London Derby ahead" along with a muscle emoji - he is of course referring to Tottenham's upcoming clash against fellow capital club Fulham, which takes place at Wembley on Saturday afternoon. Starter Fabri, another new acquisition from Besiktas, was miserable on his debut, and it's possible Sevilla loanee Sergio Rico could get his chance in net.

"We know this team will take possession off us and we must be ready for working altogether off the ball and suffer and show the solidarity and great effort". "I am happy with three quality goalkeepers", the manager said. The Argentine has reaffirmed his commitment to the North London side, who has he guided back into this season's Champions League. "This is a fantastic situation for a head coach like me, the three keepers are in the same situation and they must fight for the position and in my hands is the decision what I believe is best for my team".

Pochettino knows it will be a tough ask to keep Spurs amongst the top three, but insists he is fully committed to the cause and determined to overachieve.

"Maybe we need to adapt". We need our fans to understand that it's a massive, huge project that will be [there] forever for them and the club.

"I haven't found many negatives since our return to the Premier League, and I always try and speak about positive things", said the manager.

"I feel the responsibility to them and that is why I am here", explained Pochettino in declarations which were published by the 'Mirror'. "I want to say sorry, but we will try to reward them by winning games".
