While addressing the global Association of Chiefs of Police during an appearance in Chicago Tuesday, President Barack Obama declared that law enforcement often gets "scapegoated" for failures in society and the criminal justice system. During his speech , Obama called for stricter gun laws amid a spike in violent crime this year. The Obama adviser said, "It's the patchwork of laws that doesn't serve us".

The broad-based S&P 500 gained 24.69 (1.19 per cent) at 2,104.05, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index jumped 73.40 (1.45 per cent) to 5,127.15. More than 100 companies in the S&P 500 are scheduled to announce earnings this week. Mainland China markets fell, with the main Shanghai index falling 1.2 percent, hurt by the factory survey results and the government's crackdown on illegal futures trading.

She had been in and out of foster homes until a permanent home was found for her with a couple who had children - until she snapped.  Desperate employees who tried to get her up and moving said "It's almost like her world shut down". "She came to us with some fear issues and guarding issues". When she was 5-months-old, she was finally adopted into what should have been a forever home.

Thankfully for Honda, a careful recall plan has seen many cars with Takata airbag issues getting fixed. Fortunately only 515 Honda CR-V models have the defected airbags. Nissan  said  that the vehicle involved in the accident, a 2006 X-Trail SUV, had been included on a recall list earlier this year due to concerns about its passenger side airbag, but was found not to contain any moisture leaks when the vehicle was brought in for inspection.
