Two kayaks had flipped over. Divers pulled the man's body out of the water about an hour later, the department said. The man helped the woman then went under water again, and didn't return to the surface. Resuscitation efforts were begun, but they were not successful and the man was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officials did not release the name of the man or information about where he resided.
