If Ossoff gets the support of the other Democratic candidates, he would have 49 percent, said Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez. May asks public to trust her decision on snap poll

MPs are now debating a motion to bring forward the election by three years, with Mrs May expected to secure the two-thirds majority of MPs needed in the vote later this afternoon. "She can not be allowed to run away from her duty to democracy and refuse to let the British people hear the arguments directly".
