Russian Federation vetoes U.S. resolution on Syria gas attack
On Tuesday, the 15-member body voted on three separate draft resolutions in response to recent allegations of a chemical weapons attack in the Syrian town of Douma. The latter attack led to a U.S. airstrike on a Syrian airfield. The U.S., Britain and France say they launched airstrikes against Syrian chemical sites after obtaining "proof" that poisonous gas was used last weekend in Douma.
