"He said he'd build a wall for us, but then he up and ran", Scarborough sings on the track.
It's not exactly a secret that Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, co-hosts of the MSNBC morning program Morning Joe, have been "frustrated" with Donald Trump's rhetoric as of late, and they haven't been afraid to hide their dissatisfaction with the GOP nominee on-air.
Trump also uses tweetstorms to help his messages gain traction, so Scarborough did the same.
Scarborough, who had previously supported Trump, turned against the candidate with several scathing editorials in The Washington Post, and even requested that the Republican Party "drop Trump".
Twitter users explored the hashtag #AmnestyDon Monday morning after Joe Scarborough called Donald Trump "Amnesty Don" for his "softening" on immigration. "People are saying it", Scarborough said Monday. It seems the "Morning Joe" host has taken the gag a step further, asking throughout the song if there is a pill for Trump's early softening and if the cowboys will smell the "dirty con".
"He said he'd deport Mexicans before they raped our wives", the song goes, "and ban a million Muslims before they took white lives".
The "Amnesty Don" rant became a social media sensation, with #AmnestyDon cementing its status as the No.1 trending topic on Twitter for a good portion of the morning. While Scarborough used to be friendly with Trump, Trump's hesitance to disavow KKK leaders who were supporting him soured their relationship, and since then Scarborough has hit Trump on a number of issues.
Trump has repeatedly tweeted that he does not watch the show anymore - but he does still complain about the show's content.
