Should Rosenstein decide to recuse himself, Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand would take over for him as far as having authority over the special counsel, whether it continues to be Mueller or not.
"I'm just one lawyer", Sekulow said.
"He's not afraid of the investigation".
Wallace noted that the "tape will speak for itself".
Most Republicans were happy to see Mueller take over the investigation after Comey was sacked because it allowed them to redirect politically fraught questions about Russian Federation to the special counsel's office.
"The president of the United States takes action after receiving a memorandum from his attorney general, a letter actually from his attorney general and memorandum from his deputy attorney general", Sekulow told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program.
Our suggestion would be that Mueller decide first whether there is even a shred of evidence to back up the Trump-colluding-with-Russia claim - something that looks increasingly unlikely.
Things got testy as the two sparred over Sekulow's contention that they have not been informed about an obstruction investigation, before Cuomo asked why Sekulow can't simply "make a phone call" and find out if Trump is being looked at.
Meanwhile, it is no secret that there are both Senate and House committees that are investigating the President.
On June 14, the Washington Post reported that Mueller had expanded his investigation to determine if Trump had attempted to obstruct justice, and was interviewing senior intelligence officials - Director of National Intelligence Daniel Coats, Head of National Security Agency Mike Rogers, and Rogers' former deputy Richard Ledgett - as part of that probe. He maintained that the president's actions won't prevent any of the investigations from proceeding, and that getting to the bottom of what happened would benefit all involved, including Trump.
On Twitter again Sunday, Trump said, "The Make America Great Again agenda is doing very well despite the distraction of the witch hunt".
Sekulow says that Trump hasn't been notified of any investigation. If they find none, Im certain Mueller will forthrightly report that fact but only after completing a proper investigation, which takes time.
WASHINGTON, D.C.: One of Donald Trump's lawyers insisted Sunday that the president was not under criminal investigation as part of the sweeping probe into Russia's alleged meddling in American elections, despite the USA leader's tweets angrily calling the whole saga a "distraction". Multiple sources tell People's Pundit Daily (PPD) that Mr. Mueller hasn't decided on the scope of the investigation, let alone whether it will eventually include President Trump.
"Trump has a compulsion to counter-attack and is very pugnacious".
Last week, Trump sent a tweet referring to being the victim of a "witch hunt".
Former House Speaker, Newt Gingrich said, "I don't think that tweet served him". Politico reported last Saturday the White House plans to work with Republicans in the House to make changes to the bill, which curbs Trump's ability to ease penalties against Russian Federation.
"It's possible we will have an answer to that at the end of the week", Spicer said in an off-camera briefing.
