Chrissy Teigen opens up about her relationship with alcohol

There were no bars holding Chrissy Teigen back when she opened up about her drinking habit in her latest Cosmopolitan interview published on Monday.

Teigen, who revealed she has a history of alcohol abuse in her family, added that having easy access to drinks makes it hard to resist.

"I used to think it was kind of nutty to have to go totally sober, but now I get it", she said. Then that glass of wine would carry over into me having one before the awards show. "And then a bunch at the awards show", she said.

"Then I felt bad for making kind of an a- of myself to people that I really respected".

'And that feeling, there's just nothing like that. "I feel like pregnancy is the time for them to warm you up to the shaming that's about to come because they really go in on you".

Though people around the 31-year-old weren't necessarily anxious - "They just assumed that it was OK because I always felt OK the next morning" - Teigen said she "knew in [her] heart it wasn't right".

She said she would suffer embarrassment and regret the next day after a big night on the drink. "I don't know how to go to an awards show and not drink".

Fortunately, when Teigen abstained from alcohol during her retreat, she noticed that she'd didn't miss drinking much at all. "I would wake up feeling fantastic". She even felt "wonderful" and "amazing" and has been eating well ever since she made a decision to quit drinking.

In Bali, Teigen said she worked out, ate better, and avoided alcohol. "I don't want to have to look at a photo for 20 minutes before I post it".

Chrissy Teigen is keeping it real as she addresses her relationship with alcohol.

"Nobody really brought it up to me", Teigen said.

Teigen has been seen acting intoxicated on some of her past Snapchat stories as she attended events with her husband. They were trying to get a glimpse of their host, who, for the time being, was sitting behind a mesh screen, cross-legged on her chair. "If only you knew the other 1000 bone-breaking things I attempt daily". It makes you very short with people. She sets the standard for how she's viewed, and she can be whoever she wants to be - with or without alcohol. "So, I over-pack my carry-on for sure".
