Colts to sign TE Eric Ebron

The Indianapolis Colts have signed tight-end Eric Ebron, the team announced on Monday.

"I feel like with Andrew Luck coming back and playing along with Jack [Doyle] I feel like we can create something that most teams would want", Ebron told reporters Monday. The former first round pick is just 24-years-old and has a lot of football ahead of him.

Having spent the first four seasons of his National Football League career with the Detroit Lions, tight end Eric Ebron is reportedly on the move.

In 2016, Ebron posted career highs in receptions (61) and yards (711).

Detroit Lions tight end Eric Ebron (85) runs with the ball as Tampa Bay Buccaneers outside linebacker Lavonte David (54) defends during the first half at Raymond James Stadium.

It will be interesting to see the impact Ebron has on the offense.

The Detriot Lions selected Ebron with the 10th overall selection in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Ebron appeared in all 16 games for the Lions in 2017, making nine starts, and he finished the year with 53 receptions for 574 yards and four touchdowns.

Ebron started to turn things around in that game, though, catching a 44-yard pass in the fourth quarter that gave Detroit a shot to win the game in an eventual 20-15 loss.

If Luck is healthy, Ebron could be a big factor for the Colts in 2018. He also visited with the Carolina Panthers during this free agent period. 11-13. The Lions now need a tight end.
