Unnao rape case: Allahabad High Court CJ tears into state advocate…

Her father is picked up by the police supposedly on framed charges, and he dies in police custody!

The Uttar Pradesh government's brazen attempt to shield BJP's Unnao legislator and rape accused Kuldeep Singh Sengar caused huge embarrassment to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. As per a report in the Times of India, the police will now match the call records of the accused and the victim and try to ascertain their locations at the time of calls. CBI can cross-examine the statements given by accused MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in presence of Shashi Singh. When Sengar arrived in court, he claimed he was innocent and that he had faith in the judiciary and God.

BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar was sent to seven-day CBIcustody on Saturday after he was arrested over allegations of raping a teenager in Unnao past year. The elite probe agency has filed three separate cases into the alleged rape and incidents following it. The first one about the rape of a minor and Sengar and Shashi Singh have been named as accused.

The MLA said the he will openly sit with the people protesting in demand of transfer of case to the CBI, adding, "What is wrong in it?"

Singh also told the proclaimed history-sheeter to strike a deal with BJP District President Sanjay Dubey and Babina MLA Rajiv Singh Paricha if he wanted to save himself. CBI officials said they would question the MLA at length and would take him to Unnao to reconstruct the scene of the crime and to collect evidence against him. The brutal gang-rape and murder of an 8-year old Muslim Gujjar girl (nomadic tribe community) in Kathua District by 8 persons (spread over four days) in January at a local temple has shocked the conscience of the entire nation.

SP leader Chandrapal Singh Yadav quickly launched an attack and said names of BJP leaders in the conversation shows they were shielding criminals. PM Narendra Modi, charged for being silent on the issue, broke his silence on the two cases on Friday when he said justice for the victims would be delivered.

BJP is in power in both the states!
