Sony's new phone wants to wow you with its camera

Apart from the 4K HDR display, the dual camera setup on the rear makes the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium different from XZ2. The display of the smartphone is a 5.6-inch 4K HDR unit that promises 11% more viewable area and 30% more brightness than previous Sony 4K HDR offerings. With both devices packing the Snapdragon 845, 4GB RAM, and 64GB internal storage with microSD expansion, they should have many people covered as far as processing power and storage requirements are concerned.

Sony has chose to use a new Dual Motion Eye camera on the Xperia XZ2 Premium. The front camera also offers 5-axis image stabilisation, ISO 3200 sensitivity for photo, and ISO 1600 sensitivity for videos. Its ultra sensitivity with clean, noise-less images was previously only possible in interchangeable lens cameras - with this new addition to the flagship family Xperia brings this advanced technology to the palm of your hand. The camera can also record 960fps slow-motion videos at 1080p, while the capability to snap bokeh photos and monochrome shots will be added in the future via software update. This allows you to capture beyond what the eye can see.

The Motion Eye™ Dual camera also features more professional features, such as 4K HDR Movie recording, so you can capture reality in incredible detail and true-to-life color.

Sony has also fitted the Xperia XZ2 Premium with a better front-facing camera, 13MP on the Premium, compared to 5MP on the XZ2.

Sony has just announced that the rumours are true, and it will be releasing an XZ2 Premium complete with a 4K display. However, while the sensor is capable of recording 4K HDR videos, it's not clear yet if the main sensor is capable of recording at 60fps.

The camera module and Fusion ISP that were proudly showcased at MWC found their way in the XZ2 Premium to capture images with ISO 51,200 and videos with ISO 12,800. It also bears stereo speakers. Plus Sony's audio expertise as always enables sound enhancing technologies for Xperia such Hi-res Audio, DSHEE HX and LDAC.

Also like the XZ2 is the design. It has a 3D glass surface which surrounds the exterior, creating a seamless finish that's comfortable to hold and easy to carry. What that means is that the front and back of the smartphone is covered with Gorilla Glass 5, with the side frames made out of metal. Xperia XZ2 Premium is IP65/IP68 [iv] certified to withstand splashes and spills. It's available in Chrome Black and Chrome Silver colors. It also provides support for Bluetooth 5.0 plus NFC and you can watch 4K HDR content on the lovely display. Apart from the display, the Xperia XZ2 Premium comes shroud in a glass back and the edges are curved. Plus Battery Careand Qnovo Adaptive Charging technology which help the battery stay healthy to give you a longer battery lifespan.
