Meghan Markle's father decides not to go to Royal Wedding, TMZ reports

Thomas Markle won't be walking his daughter Meghan Markle down the aisle for her royal wedding to Prince Harry on Saturday, TMZ is reporting Monday.

Thomas Markle told TMZ that he will go into surgery at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday to fix extensive damage from a heart attack he believes was triggered due to the open letter his son, Thomas Jr., wrote to Prince Harry trying to discourage him from marrying Meghan.

Thomas Markle has reportedly decided he is not going to his daughter's wedding.

A spokesman for Kensington Palace said: "This is a deeply personal moment for Ms Markle in the days before her wedding".

Britain's royal family requested "understanding and respect" be extended to Meghan Markle's father, Thomas Markle, amid the "difficult situation".

Father and son Windsor Grey horses Storm and Tyrone will be escorting Meghan and Harry away from their wedding at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle this weekend. "Ms. Markle is delighted to have her parents by her side on this important and happy occasion".

The controversy surrounds pictures of Mr Markle, which were published earlier this month in a number of newspapers showing him in a series of wedding related activities - apparently unaware he was being photographed. Thomas Markle and her mother, Doria Ragland, met at a Hollywood studio in the late 1970s where he was working as as a lighting director and she was a temp.

"Thomas says the paparazzi agency approached him, offered him money - though nowhere near the reported $100k - and he figured there was no harm in it and it would help recast his image", TMZ reports. She knows the eyes of the world are on her.

Also not attending the wedding are foreign heads of states and royals from overseas.

By staging these paparazzi photos you'll have broken Prince Harry's trust & your little girl's heart.

They all are set to be "special correspondents" on Good Morning Britain.

"I can no longer tell FakeHarry and FakeMeghan from #harryandmeghan", one viewer tweeted. "So I said, really you need to show the world that you're getting in shape and doing great healthy things".

"Meghan has no relationship with her half-siblings, nor has she ever had one", the source says.

Patrick played Mike Ross on Suits opposite Meghan's Rachel Zane, and the pair were a much-loved will they/won't they couple on the show.

It has also been revealed that the couple will spend their final night before the wedding at separate luxury hotels near Windsor.

After the unveiling of the Instrument of Consent document which was signed by the Queen and gives Prince Harry the green light to marry Meghan Markle on May 19, some people on social media took exception to some wording. They are due to travel to the chapel together on Saturday.
