George Clooney reported hurt in motorcycle crash in Italy


Hollywood legend George Clooney sustained minor injuries after being involved in an accident while riding a motorized scooter in Sardinia, Italy on Tuesday morning, according to local media.

The daily says the 57-year-old Clooney had been headed to a film set on Tuesday when his motorbike was hit by a vehicle.

A photo from the scene shows the car's smashed windshield.

According to the site, George was said to be hit by a vehicle which suddenly changed direction at a spot close to a hotel.

The 57-year-old actor was taken to a hospital in the city of Olbia, but his injuries were not serious and he was quickly discharged, a health official told NBC News.

The couple had previously been enjoying their European trip alongside George's parents Nina and Nick Clooney, as well as Amal's mother Baria Alamuddin. More information is to follow.

Clooney reportedly was in Sardinia filming a television miniseries adapted from Joseph Heller's World War II novel "Catch-22".

They met when she attended one of his parties at his Lake Como mansion, and Wednesday in Venice a year later.

Hugh Laurie also stars as Major de Coverley for the series which has a release date of 2019.
