A clash broke out between Nawaz Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League (N) party members and agitated PTI protestors after the incident.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shahbaz said on Monday that the accountability process against the Sharif family was a hard time but the party stands united while facing this trouble.

After the Supreme Court announced the verdict in Avenfield case Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz made a decision to return to Pakistan from London on July 13th.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has also announced that it will arrest the father and the daughter on their arrival in Lahore on Friday.

An accountability court on Friday sentenced Nawaz Sharif to 10 years in prison for corrupt practices linked to his family's purchase of upscale London flats.

"Since the road option may be hard for the authorities concerned with regard to provide security cover, a helicopter should be provided to the NAB to avoid problems in the arrest and shifting them (Nawaz and Maryam) to Adiala jail in Rawalpindi after producing them before the accountability court", the official said.

Earlier, while talking to the media, Maryam Nawaz had said that Nawaz Sharif's decision to return to serve his sentence will rewrite history.

Sharif's son-in-law Capt (retd) Muhammad Safdar was jailed for one year rigorous imprisonment for not cooperating with the NAB.

PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Auranzeb said a large number of party workers will gather in Lahore from all provinces of the country to give "historic welcome" to Sharif and Maryam.

Fearing lack of response from the general public upon their arrival in Pakistan, the Sharifs have chose to land in Lahore, as the PML-N is eyeing support of state machineries in AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan to ensure public attendance, according to a report in The Express Tribune. She is suffering from lymphoma (throat cancer).
