On Friday, Samsung released invitations for the launch of a new device at a Galaxy event on October 11. The invitations are pretty sparse on detail. The event invite says, "Samsung's newest Galaxy device is bringing more ways to express yourself than ever before". But noted tipster Ice Universe suggested weeks ago that a Samsung smartphone with four cameras could be launched in 2018.
Samsung has scheduled an event in Malaysia on October 11, where the company is expected to launch a new smartphone under its Galaxy lineup. Ince Universe hinted this development earlier this month.
Samsung did just give its latest smartwatch the Galaxy moniker, so it may be a separate part of the business that's also being absorbed into the G name.
We'll likely hear more updates about the upcoming Galaxy phone as the scheduled date looms near. Of course, "4x fun" could turn out not to have anything to do with cameras and could refer to.
Not too long ago, Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 9.
The event will be livestreamed on Samsung's website, and while we can't say with any certainty at this point, it sure does sound like we're going to be introduced to a smartphone with four cameras.
