County Votes Could Repeal Beverage Tax By Wednesday

The finance committee's vote followed hours of testimony from Cook County officials, retailers, healthcare advocates and residents. The Cook County Board Finance Committee was scheduled to meet at 10 a.m. However, on October 5, Cook County Commissioner John Daley, who represents this community, said he would vote to repeal the tax, giving tax opponents the needed nine votes.
